I recently got engaged and want premarital counseling but I’m in a church where the pastor has been married several times, should I consider letting him counsel me and my fiancé?

Well first it seems as you may have some doubt about your pastor’s

ability to be an effective marriage counselor.  You should listen to

that little voice inside you and also watch out for obvious signs. No

disrespect but if your pastor has several failed marriages then he is

obviously not your most healthy choice if you want the best out of

your premarital counseling.  This is one of the most important

decisions in your life. You are starting a family and making a vow to

share the rest of your life with another person. I suggest you do some

research and maybe seek professional counseling. Likewise if you

know successful couples inquire where they received their

counseling.
